Southern Coastal Machinery Melt Blown Filter Cartridge Production Line

Melt Blown System and ancillary equipment for the production of melt-blown face mask media. The method of production is as follows: Plastic pellets are conveyed to the extruder where color or additives can be blended with the polymer. The plastic pellets are melted inside the extruder and conveyed through the machine by a screw feed mechanism into the screen changer. The screen changer includes a stainless steel mesh filter in a manual screen changer. Once passed through the screen changer, the molten polymer is fed into a transfer pipe and into a melt blown die nozzle. An electronic pressure controller is employed to maintain positive inlet pressure to the nozzle. At the exit of the die, hot air is utilized to attenuate the plastic into fibers which are collected on a rotating drum. Once deposited onto the drum, it becomes a self bonded web that is passed through an electrostatic corona charging station and is slit to the finished width and wound onto a roll.
